About Haneul
Haneul was founded by two girls living in New York City.
We were always searching for a pair of shoes that felt “just right” — simple, comfortable, something you could wear every day, yet with a quiet sense of style. It sounds basic, but in reality, it’s surprisingly rare.
“Haneul” means “sky” in Korean.
To us, it represents a feeling that is light, open, and quietly present — never overwhelming, yet always there. This is the feeling we hope to bring into every piece we choose: something natural, restrained, and effortlessly returned to.
Living in New York City gradually changes your understanding of what “right” means.
The city moves quickly. You walk more than you expect, pause in unfamiliar places, and then continue forward. In this kind of rhythm, you begin to care less about what only looks good in a single moment, and more about what can stay with you throughout the day.
That shift is where Haneul begins.
We focus on pieces that do not ask too much from you —
clean silhouettes, softened tones, and a kind of comfort that does not require adjustment or compromise.
We are drawn to things that feel balanced:
not overly designed, yet never careless;
quiet, but not invisible;
familiar, yet still special in the way they live with you.
Haneul is not about chasing trends or constant newness.
Instead, it is about returning — to the pieces you reach for without thinking, the ones that quietly become part of your everyday life.
Each pair we offer is something we have worn, reconsidered, and chosen again.
They are not meant to stand out for a moment, but to stay with you over time.
Haneul is simply a collection of what we keep coming back to —
and what we hope you will, too.
